What do you need to know about hiring a car in Cuba?


The first requirement is a driver's license, issued for at least two years and one day.

The minimum age to rent a car is 21 and the maximum age is 80. 

The minimum hire period is 3 days in high season, if it is very high season it is 5 days. 

The maximum hire period is 30 days. In case the customer wishes to hire the car for more days, he/she must renew the contract at the end of the first rental contract.

In the event that the customer wishes to cancel the reservation, he/she must notify 60 to 30 days before the start date of the reservation, and a penalty of 25% of the value of the days of the reservation will be charged. In the event that the cancellation is announced 30 to 15 days before the start date of the reservation, the penalty applied will be 50%, and finally, for a period of less than 15 days from the announcement of the cancellation of the car reservation, the penalty applied will be 100% of the value of the days of the reservation.
